Description
You are invited to join Cooperative Education Agency (CESA) #4 and the 7 Rivers Alliance for a seminar on current laws and exemptions in the employment of minors.
In an effort to keep employers informed of these laws and related exemptions, expert Jim Chiolino, Director of Wisconsin's Labor Standards Bureau and deputy administrator of the Equal Rights Division at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, will give an overview of Child Labor Laws.
Topics being covered will include work prohibited to minors, exceptions to prohibited employment provisions, minimum wage and "opportunity" rates, and work permit requirements - including those in work-based learning programs through school districts. These would include Youth Apprenticeships, Co-op programs, and similar supervised work programs.
This is offered free of charge, however, registration is required to allow for adequate materials available.
