DESCRIPTION:Scholarship Opportunity for all Sparta High School Age Students\n\n\n\nThe American Legion Oratorical Contest is a National event for High School Age Students that are enrolled in school (to include non-traditional).  The contest starts in the local community with the opportunity to win prizes as the winners move up through District\, Regions and State Contests- ultimately competing in the National Contest.\n\n\n\nThe contest consists of a single main speech topic related to the United States Constitution with a length of 8 to 10 minutes\, as well as an "Assigned Topic" that must consume 3 to 5 minutes of presenter's delivery.\n\n \nParticipants in the American legion oratorical contest develop leadership qualities\, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently\, and are better prepared for the acceptance of the duties and responsibilities and for the rights and privileges of American citizenship.
