What is a cataract and when is it necessary to have it treated? Robert Freedland, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System ophthalmologist who cares for patients in Sparta, will answer these questions and discuss innovations in cataract removal including no-patch, no-stitch, small incision cataract surgery using injectable lenses. He will also share innovations including new implant materials, implants that correct for astigmatism and implants that include bifocal and intermediate corrections for more natural vision after surgery.
