Formerly known as The Walkers Program, Healthy Strides Community Activity Program will be kicking-off this year bigger and better than ever! Healthy Strides is a community physical activity program that encourages and rewards participants for being active. This program is available to all ages!
A Healthy Strides Kick-Off Party is scheduled from 8:30-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st at the Scenic Bluffs Activity Center in Norwalk. Stop by to register, have some light refreshments and learn more about the program!
How does it work?
For kids:
Kids will be placed into 2 categories based on age: Primary and Intermediate. Log your daily minutes spent being active and turn in at the end of each month. The top monthly finisher and runner-up in each category will receive a prize each month! At the end of the program in April, the overall top finisher will receive a prize! Additionally, Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers staff will lead all interested participants in a “Brain Break” activity twice a month in each school, where kids will discover fun, new ways to be physically active throughout the winter months.
For adults:
Adults are able to choose between two levels of participation: Engaged and Competitive. The Engaged level is non-competitive, however, participants will be entered into a drawing each month for a prize! The Competitive level recognizes the participant with highest amount of activity logged each month with a prize. At the end of the program in April, the top-finisher for the Engaged level and Competitive level will be recognized with a prize. A team challenge will also be added this year.
For early registration or more information, visit our website at www.scenicbluffs.org, or stop-in to Scenic Bluffs and ask for a registration form. Forms will also be distributed at the local schools.
