RAFFLE TICKETS
Calendar raffle tickets are ready to be sold by members of your team.
$10.00 each or 3 for $25. Call: Barb Selbrede: 269-5283 or Paul Oswald at 269-3420
Credit per team, not individuals, for the selling of raffle tickets and compiled with money from walk sponsor sheet.
Drawings for cash prizes is Friday at closing ceremony through Sept 1. Need not be present to win.
LUMINARIES
A name is written on a paper bag to honor a cancer survivor or in memory of someone who died of cancer. Filled with sand and a candle, it is then set up around the track and lit before the Luminary Walk begins.
Luminary forms are available on the Forms page or in the Sparta papers after Butterfest (2nd weekend in June). Cost is 1 for $5.00 or 3 for $10.00. Call Cheryl Isensee at 269-3215 if you need more information.
BAKE SALE
All teams are invited to contribute baked goods (or purchase baked goods) at the bake sale that will take place Friday evening at the 2011 Walk. Please price items in advance and place on disposable plates or in bags that will not require returning. A table will be set up at the walk and these items can be dropped off that evening starting at 5:00 p.m.
WALK DAY
Remember that the goal is to have someone from your team walking at all times. Scheduling one-hour time slots for team members seems to work well. Depending on the size of your team this may or may not be possible - do the best you can.
We recognize most money raised - teams
* The more organized the pledges are when being turned in, the easier the record keeping becomes for the tracking of team totals.
BANK DAY
The collection and turning in of all pledges gets to be pretty overwhelming the night of the walk. Your assistance in helping to turn in pledges in advance is greatly appreciated. (We will be collecting the night of the walk as well - so any additional pledges from team members can be turned in also.)
WHAT: Team leaders should collect pledges and pledge sheets from fellow team members. Envelopes should be clearly marked with both team member and team name.

4:00 p.m. - SACS Walk 2011 begins as Sparta Memorial Field opens - Gate next to Municipal Swimming Pool
Overnight camping is allowed and encouraged.
Tents are allowed outside the football field and campers are allowed in the pool parking lot. Please remember that extreme caution should be used to not cause any unnecessary damage.
Food will be available all evening - Sparta Eagles Auxilary food booth, Culvers & 1st Community Credit Union; pizza & root beer after the Luminary Walk
6:00 P.M. - Opening Ceremonies - Roses will be handed out to the cancer survivors who are present.
7:30 P.M. Balloon Release.
9:00 p.m. Calendar Raffle Drawing
9:30 p.m. - Luminary Ceremonies - Roses handed out. Cancer survivors are asked to walk the first lap as names are being read in honor of survivors and in memory of cancer victims. All walkers/people present are asked to be silent during the reading of the names.
10:30 p.m. - Pizza, Subs & clean up
