The Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bicycle Museum has been a proud part of the Sparta community since 1999.  We have new activities in our children’s area, and a major new technology upgrade that makes the Deke Slayton Museum a great place to hold corporate meetings and events. Please join us for subs, pizza, wine and beer, and dessert at the Museum! Take part in a fun new scavenger hunt activity with a prize for every participant.
 
The Monroe County Local History Room connects people to the past in a meaningful way through historical exhibits, public programs, and research assistance. Last year, MCLHR served nearly 8,000 visitors through our museum and library. Our staff and volunteers encourage out of town museum visitors to extend their stay in the community by having lunch at a local restaurant, shopping, or filling up the gas tank before getting back on the Interstate.  At Business After Five we will be providing a sneak preview of the iGuide – an exciting new way to interact with exhbits.
