A free public informational seminar about Wisconsin's water quality. Sponsored by The Sparta Garden Club. Guest speakers and informational booths will provide valuable information regarding what is being done in our county to sustain our natural resources, especially our ground water. Booths open at 6:00 PM and speakers begin at 7:00 PM. Speakers will include Bob Micheel, Dir. Monroe Cty. Land Conservation Dept., Jack Herricks, Cashton area farmer, and 2014 Leopold Conservation Award Winner, Bob La Rue, Plant 3 Mgr. for Century Foods discussing Century Foods sustainability program, Bill Halfman, Monroe Cty Ag. Agent, informing public what impact their water practices have on our water supply, and Bob Smail, WI Water Supply Specialist. Some of the informational booths will include Todd Hanson, Sup. Sparta Water Dept., Joe Cook, Adv. SHS Earth Club, Alison Elliott, Dir. Monroe Cty Zoning, with septic system testing information, Shelly Brenneman, Valley Stewardship Network -Viroqua, with water quality information, Randy Mell, UW-Ext. Natural Resources Educator.
