Position Title: School-Age Program Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Club Services
Salary: Hourly wage based on experience, years of service & education, paid holidays & other benefits
Status: Part-time 12-6:30 Monday-Friday during the school year and 11:30-5:30 during the summer. Some hours
may be flexible with additional or fewer hours as needed. Required hours during the school year at 2-6:30 p.m.
There may be some meetings or events that are held after Club hours.

Position Summary: The Program & Activities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities as part of the five care program areas for youth in grades 2 through 7. This position also provides leadership and supervision to assigned program staff and volunteers who work with the Club’s homework programs, enrichment activities, and mentoring programs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare Youth for Success
• Plan and oversee the administration of designated Clubhouse programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:
   o Establishing Clubhouse program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
   o Initiating new programs with the approval of the direct supervisor and leadership team.
   o Recommending the development of service area programs.
   o Utilizing BGCA and evidence-based programming.
• Ensure children are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and
constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).
• Demonstrate leadership to ensure the conduct, safety, and development of members. 

Program Development and Implementation
• Ensure staff understand and effectively communicate the standards of the program.
• Ensure the evaluation of Club programs continually and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs and cultural diversity.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and activities using Club processes.
Supervision
• Allocate and monitor work assigned to program staff and volunteers, providing ongoing feedback and regular
evaluations. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned staff and volunteers.
• Provide proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily
participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.
• Help to ensure staff’s performance is productive and effective.

Health and Safety
• Ensure a healthy, safe, clean, and organized environment in all program areas

Program & Activities Coordinator
Additional responsibilities:
• May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. PBIS, Summer Camp, Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other Club activities as necessary.
• Consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.
• Submit accurate written reports for BGC of other grant requirements.
• Attending all staff meetings, prepared with items needed for discussion or reporting.
• Assist in or handling special assignments or duties as assigned.

Relationships:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain, or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parents and other to assist in resolving problems.

Skills/knowledge preferred:
• Four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Planning learning, and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
• Proven history with classroom management, youth team management, or management of youth in a group setting in grades 2 - 7.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff and volunteers.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
• Mandatory CPR, First Aid Certifications, Child Abuse Prevention & Recognition training, Mandatory Reporting Training.

Physical requirements/work environment:
High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects; good interpersonal abilities; ability to interact effectively with co-workers of all levels as well as with representation of other organizations and institutions. Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tact, maturity, and flexibility; physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting, standing, stooping, running, and lifting a minimum of 30 pounds. Must be able to function under fast-paced and noisy conditions. Noise levels in the work environment will fluctuate from moderate to high.
