Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Summer Camp Director to oversee the planning, organization, and execution of our summer camp program, which includes weekly off-site field trips. The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth development, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience for all youth in grades 2-9.

Key Responsibilities

· Program Development: Design and implement age-appropriate camp activities, ensuring a balance of recreation, education, and adventure.

· Staff Management: Train and supervise camp counselors, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

· Camper Safety: Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and manage emergency response protocols.

· Budget Oversight: Manage the camp budget, including expenses for supplies, tuition payments, and program resources.

· Parental Communication: Serve as the primary contact for parents, addressing concerns and providing updates on camp operations.

· Facility Management: Oversee the use and maintenance of Clubhouse facilities, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.

· Compliance: Ensure the camp adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).

· Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in camp management, youth programming, or a related leadership role.

· Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and/or Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain).

· Skills:

o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Problem-solving and conflict-resolution expertise.

o Ability to supervise children and manage behavior in a safe, inclusive environment.

o Proven leadership skills to inspire, support, and empower camp staff to excel in their roles.

Work Environment

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

· Duties are performed throughout the Clubhouse, and noise levels fluctuate from moderate to high.
