Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Manager NF-04
This position is located within the Business and Recreation Division, Rumpel Fitness Center, of Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR), Fort McCoy, WI.
Duties:
- Manages the installation's sports, fitness and aquatics programs and conducts instructional classes.
- Responsible for organizing, scheduling, and publicizing activities and programs, to include special events, sports leagues/ tournaments. Command directives and available resources. Prepares and executes marketing plan for the program and facilities.
- Develops and executes both Appropriated Funds (APF) and Non-appropriated Funds (NAF) budget.
- Responsible for the daily operations of all fitness facilities, outdoor sports facilities and fields, and aquatic facility. Responsible for all staffing requirements within the sports, fitness and aquatics program area.
- Performs the full range of leadership and supervisory duties over staff and facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include childcare checks for the SKIES program.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Successfully complete all required background checks to include a health screening. An annual health screening will be required throughout employment. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
- Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors during special events.
- Driver’s license will be required if operating government vehicles.
- Operation is 7 days a week, schedule will be based on the needs of the activity. Subject to an irregular tour of duty including early mornings, afternoons, evenings. Weekends and holidays are required.
Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Experience that demonstrated the ability to apply the principles of sports, fitness and aquatics. Experience in planning and administering sports fitness and aquatics programs. Experience in a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports. This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, school or college: or planning, teaching, or evaluating a physical education curriculum for a secondary or higher academic level. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade. Ability to make decisions IAW Army and DoD policies. Ability to generate and maintain effective relationships with outside agencies. Strong communication skills required. Ability to write various staff office documents. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc., required.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Possess a minimum of 1(one) year experience in Financial Management
- Possess a minimum of 1(one) year experience in supervising or leadership
